│ Version 3.0 menu system, July 30th. │

If you use DRM30pul.EXE (aka the "PULL" program) correctly, it
will produce a smaller file on another disk which has some of the
parts of DRMENU30.DOC removed for security reasons. If you want
to "PULL" out MORE lines than I have marked, put an invisible,
"magic", ASCII 255 character in/on a line and in column 1 or
column 2 or column 3 - from the left of the screen.
When you run DRM30pul.EXE, it will ask you for a path to find the
original DRMENU30.DOC file. Give it JUST the path...then, give it
a NEW path to put the results. For instance, read the original
from a floppy by replying "A:\" for the path and then, reply
"D:\DOC\" for the new place to put the results after pulling lines.
DRM30pul.EXE will then ask you what column to look in for finding
the invisible character 255. Your choices will be 1, 2, or 3.
Although column one is not mentioned here in this DOC file, you
can customize your DOC file and use this number for your own
personalized "pulling" if you wish.
If you want to TAKE OUT THE WHOLE PAGE, ie. from a FormFeed all the
way to the next FormFeed, then put the "magic" invisible 255
character in column #2, or column #3 on the same line with the
ASCII 12 FormFeed character. Like in the example below:
<----------<<<<< here are 2 CHaRacters: a CHR 12 and an invisible CHR 255
If you want to use a filename OTHER than DRMENU30.DOC, then you
must put the filename, just the filename, no path, on the command
line when you run DRM30pul.EXE and preceed it with a left square
bracket "[". That's intended to stop someone from casually using
it. Here's an example for using the filename "SMALLDOC.DOC"
A:\>DRM30pul [SMALLDOC.DOC
Please do not make and distribute your modified manuals in my
DRMENU system "package." Let (allow) others to make their own
decisions on modifying their own pages.
Here's some hidden 255's, below, for you to see if you can find
using your favorite editor or viewer. Warning: Most of the time
they are invisible, so don't worry if you cannot see them easily.
I use QEDIT Advanced v3.0 with the "show character value" feature
turned on so it's easy for ME to see. Yes, it's registered!
─┐ There's a CHR 255
│──in column one
─┘ and NO box character at the left side. The left box side is "open".
│
123456789 columns
┌─┐ There's a CHR 255
│ │──in column two
└─┘ because column 1 has
a box line character in it.
│
123456789 columns
┌─┐ There's a CHR 255
│ │──in column three
└─┘ because column 2 has
a box's line character in it. Column 1 has just a space in it.

123456789 columns
....So-o-o-o-o
From the DRMENU factory, running DRM30pul.EXE and selecting column "2"
for character 255's will PULL lines that would offend Government and
Commercial agencies because - even though DRMENU is FREE - it smacks of
money due to the "offer" of "ßeta Club Membership." You can be the
judge whether they get to read about the "ßeta club" offer or not.
From the DRMENU factory, running DRM30pul.EXE and selecting column "3"
for character 255's will PULL lines which I, David Roper, consider to
hold revealing secrets which would compromise the security and
"mysteries" of the DRMENU system. You can keep them "in the dark" -
with you as the DRMENU "expert". The manual will not reveal many
secrets (...much!).
So then, if you run DRM30pul.EXE twice, you can carefully extract
FIRST, the "column 2", and then the "column 3" lines if you really want
a plain vanilla manual to give to others. That will keep them
guessing and in the dark for a long time.
Remember, please do not distribute "YOUR" modifications in the DRMENU
package as "MINE".
Thanks,
